Costa Rica Day 4: La Carpio & Los Lagos

Hello all.  Tonight, I will be blogging about yesterday since I literally have not had internet until now!!  We started our 4th full day by going back to La Carpio.  It was VERY rainy, so we brought out some fun things to do with the kids… face painting, bubbles, stickers, inflatable soccer balls and baseball bats, etc.

I love this first shot of Mary Beth and her sweet friend looking at each other.

These children are so beautiful!!!  And so full of love to give!!Callie watching the rain with another new friend…I love these two little girls proudly displaying their artwork they made with Ariana!!  So proud! The older guys really loved hanging out with Blake and Jarrad talking about music and life! This little guy’s smile melts my heart!!FINALLY, el pollo grande (the big chicken… aka Mark Shook) gave in to the face paint… on his bald head!!  This drew quite the crowd and created loads of laughter!!  What a great sport!!Yesterday afternoon, we left from La Carpio and drove three hours into the mountains to stay at Los Lagos – right under the Volcan Arenal (an active volcano in Costa Rica!!!).  During the long bus ride, Michelle and Jenny stayed entertained by deciding that Lalo needed braids.  I love this next image as, for a brief moment, they turned into little girls!  (This reminds me of when I was allowed to put bows in my grandfather’s hair!)  Actually, the girls did a great job and Steve is loving his new do!  It would be perfect here in Costa Rica!!Right outside the lobby of Los Lagos, there is an aquarium which is home to this really beautiful creature.  I LOVE the yellow!!  And how he looks like he is flying and singing!!!A shot of the volcano from the lobby.  Really captivating. In the evening, right before dinner, it “poofed” an awesome cloud which the wind then carried away to the right.  This week, I have been reminded of God’s artistry through his beautiful and colorful nature.  HIS artwork inspires mine!Today, we zip lined through the rainforest here at Los Lagos and then visited Tabacon Springs… I think the Garden of Eden was actually in Tabacon Springs right here in Costa Rica!! :)  For dinner, we went to a local pizza joint which was muy delicioso!!

I can’t believe the week has come to a close and that we are leaving tomorrow!  Once again, I am so honored to have had this opportunity to capture another once-in-a-lifetime trip and share it with the world.
