Matt and Caroline

This past weekend I was honored to get the chance to see one of my best friends Matt Collins marry the woman of his dreams: Caroline Jones. Matt is a graduate of Georgia Tech and Caroline is a graduate of the best school in the world: University of Georgia. It was a great experience to be able to just enjoy the little moments of this celebration. (Rather than photographing them.) Just to give a little shout out to the photographers: Melissa Crain and Kate Byars were there to document the event. I do have to say that I would have loved to capture an event at this location. Matt and Caroline got married at Peachtree Christian Church. It was absolutely beautiful. Every window in the sanctuary was a masterpiece stained glass window. The history and antiquity of this building would make it impossible to get a bad shot.

(I have to pause the story to make fun of myself. Since Ellen had to get her classroom ready for school starting back I made this trip solo. And because of some scheduling conflicts and uncertainty of a few things I would be driving this trip solo. Well…I thought to myself: “You know what would be cool. Driving my 98 Jeep Wrangler to Atlanta.” Top down road trip! Which was a necessity since the Jeep doesn’t have A/C, I pulled all the flooring out and have painted in bedliner–AKA burning hot floor bed. Oh and what might happen…Rain in the forecast in every state I would be driving through. So now my really cool idea turned into an easy bake oven with me being the main course. I was baking on the inside with no where for the heat from the floorboard to escape, and being “cooled” by 100 degree swamp air…needless to say first and last road trip to GA in the Jeep.)

So back to the stars of the show Matt and Caroline. Since I live in TX and Matt lives in GA I actually did not meet Caroline until the day before the wedding. Not that it matters but: APPROVED. She is an amazing woman. She and Matt seem to be meant for each other. I can’t wait to see where God takes this couple. I feel like the options are truly endless. Congrats to the both of you. I can’t wait for Ellen and I to get a chance to visit and spend some more time together.
