You Can’t Put a Price on This!

Actually you can…because we do have a fee for portrait photography. But truth be told, you get what you pay for. Consider the photographer that charges $50 for a sitting fee, $5 for an 8×10 print, and gives away the digital images…when all is said and done that person makes only a couple cents per hour for the work they did. And that means you probably have photos that are worth exactly that… I think about a few of my favorite wedding photographers that have a basic package that starts at $5000: guess what–you are going to get pictures that are worth every dollar.

With that being said, I love all of our clients. They see the value in paying for a great custom photographer. And they get memories that look like magic.

Reid and Lexi came to us (after another photographer didn’t pan out too well) for a custom package. They were getting married in Las Vegas, but she wanted bridal photos shot here in Texas. You may remember her, she was our bluebonnet bride. She also wanted to do a “day after shoot” (or in this case 6 months after) to have some of those sweet memories to share with future generations of Reid and her in their wedding attire. I am so glad they chose us to be their photographer because I am in love with this shoot.

We shot as the sun was starting to creep low in the sky at Ellen’s grandparents’ house. (Which happens to be where 600+ people gathered to celebrate our marriage May 19, 2007.) Reid and Lexi brought their children: two HUGE Labrador retrievers. This family affair was just majestic. Reid is a great guy: maybe one of the nicest people I have ever met. He was looking very sharp in his suit. He strayed away from the tux rental and had a light tan suit with vest and suspenders. I always enjoy those who move away from the one-size-fits-all parachute pants known as a rental tux. Lexi was again in her beautiful dress. I know brides would jump at the chance to don their beautiful gowns. I really like Lexi’s dress: very classy.

The camera loves these two. The day was just perfect. And we walked away with some amazing shots for Lexi and Reid to show off over their years together. We are very proud to have been the ones to capture these memories. Remember: custom photography is worth the cost.
