Cancun – Comunidad De Fe

I am fully aware that this post is a bit long, but I simply could not narrow down the photo selection any more!  I hope the readers from Cancun will enjoy these photos, and I hope the readers from Houston will get a glimpse into Community of Faith’s amazing sister-church, Comunidad De Fe!!

I cannot explain the unity we felt with the amazing people from Comunidad De Fe.  Separated by distance and language, but deeply connected by God’s love and a common church vision and philosophy.

We attended the second of three services and then got to experience the children’s and student ministries.

It was a beautiful time of worship!

Here is their bookstore!  There is not anything like a Barnes and Noble or especially a Lifeway bookstore in Cancun, so it is a great resource for church members to have access to Bible studies and inspirational books.
Below is their Community Connection / Information booth!  Here, members can sign up for events and Community Groups!
One of four communion tables.
One of their friendly greeters worshiping by the door to welcome any late-comers.
Sunday was Marco’s dad’s birthday and was so happy to be honored during the welcome!

Marco Monroy is one very talented, loved, and respected pastor – both in the United States and in Mexico!A sweet volunteer collecting the offering buckets.
Marco and Carina giving the end of service announcements.

Greeter station with the programs and sermon notes.Between services, Carina took us to the top floor of the hotel where they used to hold services.  From here, we could see almost all of Cancun!  What a beautiful city!
Communion during the third service worship time.

It was a packed house!!Upstairs, we got to peek into the student services led by the amazingly energetic, Emilio Brito!  What a blessing to have him a part of Comunidad De Fe along with his beautiful wife, Jenny, and son, Jethro!

On another level, we got to see the nursery, pre-school, and children’s ministries.  God bless these amazing volunteers who are teaching these kids that church is fun, that God is good, and that they are loved.
Each week, a different community group volunteers in the nursery together.  What better way to grow together than to serve together??  Look at these adorable babies!!

Singing sweet songs about Jesus!
Love these sweet girlfriends playing hand-clap games!  Look at those smiles!
After church, we got to attend a potluck lunch with all of the amazing volunteers from Comunidad De Fe.  One church member owns a beautiful event facility that he generously lends to the church.  The food was delicious and the company felt like family.  The hearts of these people are so big and inspiring!  We felt so welcomed and accepted!
We enjoyed chatting in English with Ashley!  She is originally from Kansas but met her husband in Cancun, and now they are raising their family there (and expecting another!).It was long day, but good and fulfilling in so many ways!  I am so grateful to have experienced such unity and love within a true Community of Faith!

Thank you so much to our hosts, Marco and Carina Monroy!  Thank you for your time, your chauffeuring, your stories, your history lessons, your translating, and even for your pesos to use the restroom.  We love you and can’t wait to see you again in April for our 10th Anniversary weekend!
