Life (of hair) After Baby

Real talk: I have always enjoyed my hair and have had just about every length and style you could think of. But it wasn’t until the last few years that I started thinking about the HEALTH of my hair. I started shifting my lifestyle to become more natural and healthy in *all* areas of my life. Recycling, practicing yoga, eating clean and organic, etc. I’m actually quite passionate about natural and healthy living, so I’ll write more about that later.

For now, enjoy a sampling of my hairstyles over the last 12 years…

THEN I got pregnant with my little love and had him in February AND ALL MY HAIR FELL OUT! Ok maybe not all of it, but y’all… postpartum hair loss was real for me. Plus, I’m exclusively breastfeeding, so all of the best nutrients that I’m feeding myself are going straight to Adam. The health of my hair was definitely suffering.

This was 4 months PP. I sure didn’t plan on wearing my hair in a ponytail that day and showing off this fabulous new hair line, BUT Houston. Know what I mean??

My sweet friend, Francie, offered to let me try some of the hair products she sells that can help with hair growth / volume / health called MONAT (short for Modern Nature). My first question was if it was safe to use while breastfeeding. Her answer? The entire line of products is natural and made with botanical oils and ingredients! I needed these products!! At least it wouldn’t hurt to try. To start, I used the Renew Shampoo and the Replenish Masque (<– A deep conditioner; my fave!!) No lie: I could already tell a difference in the overall strength and health of my hair just after the first use!

More real talk: Randy’s hair has been thinning the past few years. Yay life. Going back to school, changing jobs, learning new industries, having a baby, and being in his mid-30’s have all contributed to hair loss and thinning – both in his hair line and the top of his head. I thought, if there’s a NATURAL product out there that can help his hair, then we’re sold! (I’ll devote an entire blog post about Randy’s hair later.)

I believe in these products and the philosophy behind this company. It was an easy decision to join with them as a Market Partner! These naturally based products do not contain parabens, sulfates, DEA/MEA, phthalates, PEG, harsh salt systems, silicones, or harmful colors and fragrances. These products completely align with my goal of living a more healthy and natural lifestyle!

If you or someone you know could use some help with hair loss or hair thinning, OR if you just want a more natural approach to hair care, let me help you!
