On November 17th, Adam turned 9 months old! This is such a fun age. He is Mr. Personality! Here’s what happened this month: I chopped off all my hair! Some days I love it and some days I don’t, but it sure is faster to style when I don’t know how long Adam will be happy. Adam started going […]
the wonderful world of randy and ellen olive: photographers
Randy and Ellen met in 2005, fell in love, and married May 19, 2007.
We are the Olives. Welcome. We (this is Randy writing) started our photography business out of the desire to capture memories. Ellen and I love weddings and have a business that is founded on wedding photography. We call ourselves wedding photographers, but we also do portrait and commercial work.
I have a background in art, but I never really used photography as an outlet for creativity. I started out as a painting and drawing major at the University of Georgia. I owe my artistic love to my Dad: who taught me how to draw and to Mr. Bennett my: my high school art teacher (and in later years college professor). Around 2006 Ellen bought me my first camera. It was an Olympus digital slr. I took to photography like a fish to water. My thirst grew until three years of experience later we started Randy Olive Photography. It was birthed from portrait work but soon became a desire to capture the bliss of wedding memories.
Ellen is about the most talented person I know. She has three passions: music, photography, and missions. She has led music (mainly for churches) with her band for well over 3 years. She also sang with the youth band at Champion Forest Baptist church her entire high school career. In the 10th grade Ellen was given an assignment to pick what she wanted to do for work when she grew up. She did a whole project on wedding photography. However, she knew that would never happen and moved on into the business school track. Who would have guessed that years later she would be living that dream. My favorite photographer (I know I am a little partial but seriously) is Ellen.
So Randy Olive Photography is a tandem team: husband and wife. We shoot all Canon--not that we are brand snobs: it's just what we chose as our professional gear. We have been officially in business since September of 2009. Our dream is to capture your memories.
